Richard Brautigan - My friend attacks my friend!

My friend attacks my friend!
Oh Battle picturesque!
Then I turn Soldier too,
And he turns Satirist!
How martial is this place!
Had I a mighty gun
I think I'd shoot the human race
And then to glory run!

It is possible that she had friends on the North and south during the civil war. she toatally disagrees with the war and blames the human race for getting into such a situation...It is of a funnier out look though of insincere words but she is still agrivated it is going on...

This is one of the funniest of her poems...It is saying
chuck it all there is no way of winning....Everyone disagrees.
