My name is Amanda. I am 15 years old. An old freind seid that i should read
this poem... i wondered why.. he seid it was a great poem to read if it you
want to think... i thought long an hard about this poem... i've read it
several times today trying to see what it meant....i thought about what the
point was and it made me think what if one day everything is strong and
great just like the one hoss-shay and then they next day everything is gone
without a say just like the one hoss-shay and makes me think that
everything could be gone in a snap of a finger and so I wonder if i have
lived life to the fullest...i dont think i have because i am only 15 and
maybe this poem means something less or something greater but it has really
put an outlook on my opinion on life....very intereting poem...I may read
it a few more times... and lo0k it up on other websites to see what people
think.... hmm... maybe everything will be gone just like the one hoss-shay
someday... you never know...well I love this poem but now im going to go
and monday at school im going to bring this poem up and ask her about
it...because i still cant fully understand the poem with old age dialoge
and phrases.. but i sure want to try...thenx

The wonderful one hoss shay was the first poem I remember reading
almost 70 years ago that I understood and liked. Today, all my parts
are still together and I have hopes of going all at once like that
wonderful shay.

A great poem and an example of old age.
