Reaching your own heart is iptormant as well as others, Mariska has a quote
that I absolutely love. It is “to hear truth, listen to the heart,
Believe yours.” I think this is so tru because to reach the hearts of
anyone we need to listen to our own hearts first. If we know where our
heart is then we can find the heart of another and love, compassion and
understanding put cracks in the doors of many hearts and allow the joy of
life and forgivenss to come out.I just read a book called Live and Let
Love. It is a great sequel to Notes to Self. SOme of the stories are
heartbreaking and I cried through a lot of it. But it is heartwarming to
see how others overcome adversities. It is true that with open hearts we can
bring joy to the world, If we could only remember to keep our hearts open.
Keep the great quotes coming. They also make my day and I look forward to
them. I will keep reaching for your heart and help you set it free.

I remmeber every day of my life how my dogs made me feel, when I was a kid.
Now that I am older and they are gone, I still remmeber how they made me
feel. And I am grateful.

I feel that this peom have a very strong message in it. I feel that women
should read this poem. Yes it may make some uncomfortable but that
uncomforable feeling might just help a woman or even a young girl be carful
of who they trust.. because in an instant the thing most precious could be
taken from you and you cant get it back...

I'm commenting from St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands.
We are not listed in the country of choice and I want everyone to know how
much this poem depicts the life and crticism we have endured on this small
island. Men look down on us and prey on our innocence as young women and
girls. Maya tells us that we have to protect our daughters as well as our
integrity. Well done, I love it....

This poem is just an example of the maturity of this woman and her
remarkable ability to articulate her body's thoughts, as well as her
mind's. It seems very clear to me. It speaks simply about the complexity
of our need for men as well as the distinct differences in our characters.
Just obvious talent in this piece. I appreciate being granted the
privelege of observing this from Maya's perspective.
