I checked out Dr. Pockless' views, and I think you really have to weigh
what he said. She also wrote a poem about Africa, but I don't think this
is the same one. If you read her biography, you will see that she had a
really hard life, she was constantly told that she was nothing, and made to
feel like she didn't matter. Yes, Africa and her roots played into it, but
I think it was more personal than that.

i think that the poems are to much about love.i really don't understand
them,and i don't really like them.But Maya Angelou is a great person.
