I want Dr. Angelou to know that she is my favorite poet. I never really
understood poetry until I read her poems. They touch me and are amazing. I
don't know much about poetry, but from what I have read it is wonderful. I
actually started crying as I read a few of the poems. Anyway I have a
poetry project due in two days and I used 16 poems of Maya Angelou's. W
were only supposed to do five, but I just had to share my findings with my
class.

you are a vision of hope for pepole like me in times of utter emotional
destress. everyone has a story or secrets but confession is good for the
soul. i used to be a strong peerson but the trials of life has deminished
me just a bit. a renewal takes place everytime one of yoour books or poems
is bought or read they are like blessings from God and a fulfilment of
courage and strength to go on is planted like a seed in the soul of fertile
soil and in the fulness of time it blossoms and bear fruit. God has blessed
us on this earth with angels like you thank you for sharing a part of your
self with us.

Our Pastor did not want us to display African American
Figures on the outside of the Sanctury for Black History Month! Because,
"White Men come through the Church", (not as an offense, to them or to say
we are Racist. " He's African American and Souther raised
Still I Rise encouraged me to continue on with the Youth and pray more for
him.

progressed through life. Thanks Maya for the beautiful articulation and
