Marge Piercy - The Friend

We sat across the table.
he said, cut off your hands.
they are always poking at things.
they might touch me.
I said yes.

Food grew cold on the table.
he said, burn your body.
it is not clean and smells like sex.
it rubs my mind sore.
I said yes.

I love you, I said.
That's very nice, he said
I like to be loved,
that makes me happy.
Have you cut off your hands yet?

this poem

this poem is smelly like sex as stated in the second stanza. basically it is a horrible way of talking about body parts. you know, I once had a personal experience to such, which is why I now type with my buttocks. and the father my lord shines down on me from above everyday because im still alive and hes my savior. in terms of the poem, marge was a beautiful woman who I hold dear to my heart. however, this specific piece of work is not my favorite for such reasons as this took me three hours to type. bless you all.

Thanks very much for this distinct blog; this is the kind of read that keeps me going thuorgh my day. Been looking around for your blog after being referred to it from a buddy and was happy when I stumbled on it after googling for a sometime.
