I would liken you
To a night without stars
Were it not for your eyes.
I would liken you
To a sleep without dreams
Were it not for your songs.

Shame on you. Nobody have responsibility to make you understand it. If you couldn’t get it by your own mind, plz give it up and stop talking in rude words.

  7. Amy Jentzsch says:

There is a different type of beauty in the deep stillness of the dark night — Hughes is saying the beauty of this girl is found in her quiet ways. Only
her eyes betray her shimmering soul. Her “songs” (whether sung aloud or merely kept in her head — I
like to think this refers to her personal anthems)form his dreams.

I have been looking 4-better understanding withing the poems but everytime I check “comments” It’s bu$%^**t because all comments are about “It is so good!, it touched me so deep!, etc. They never explain why it is so good. I think comments are for commenting what u’ve learned out of this, what is your understanding, dissapointment, conclusion, etc. So, come on people be real! We all know these poems are good so don’t be redundant. *don’t pay attention to my spelling, it’s not important*

  13. Amber Funches says:

i love it but to me i think that it sounds like a guy is desperate for anything.
