Gary Soto (1952 - Present)
Gary Soto in an American author and poet, born in 1952 in Fresno, California. He is one of the most important Chicano poets. As with most other Chicano poets, there is social criticism in Soto's work. Unlike many others, however, there is no (or little) bilingualism in his work, as Soto writes exclusively in English.
