Analysis and comments on Variation On A Theme By Rilke by Denise Levertov

Comment 1 of 1, added on January 19th, 2009 at 12:54 PM.

Denise Loveertov's lovely interpretation of Rilke's poem has moved me to
tears every single time I've read it. When the light of your life (a child)
is struggling with addiction and you come across a poem of hope that says
it all so beautifully you don't just dismiss it as something sweet. I've
copied, framed and wrapped this poem umpteen times and given it to those on
the same journey towards wellness as my loved one. Couple this poem with a
little book entitled, "God Calling" and bam it's a recipe for success.
Thanks for letting me share.
