I have so many of Bill Knott's poems memorized forever. Finding his books
was once an obsession of mine--especially any of the Naomi Lazard pieces.
Lucky Daryl--now THAT was a strange book.

i think "flying into myself" could also be an allusion to the soul. it is
said that when we die, the soul flies out of us, leaves the corpse, but
Knott has somehow reversed this...instead of flying out, the way we are
arranged in the coffin seems to be just the opposite.

I am surprised by the expression "flying into myself".
A beautiful expression though!
