to my dear and loving husband

Anne Bradstreet expresses her profound love and undying affection for her
husband. Bradstreet makes a point to enlighten her husband of her devotion
and longing as opposed to duty, which leaves the question whether or not
she reflected the Puritan lifestyle of her time. She conveys this message
through figurative language and declarative tone, using imagery,
repetition, and paradoxes.

This poem is awesome. This poem written in iambic penatmetre displays
poetic form in the rich rhyme scheme where she makes full use of
alliteration, assonance, consonance and masculine rhyme. It is a brilliant
description of unity of shared love between a man and a woman. MMMM makes
you want to love more.
