Reading it again after 35 years. It says much more to the 50 year old than
the 15. How old was Alan when this was wrote? Vastly Biblical. And to
think that I have spent all this time not thinking about the poem. What
what I thinking? Alan lived a life of LOUD desparation, while most are
desparately quiet.

so at my school... all these poems are blocked! because of subject matter,
language, ect.
isn't that ironic?

My God. I'm going to hyperventilate. This is fantastic; I can't believe
I've never read it before, although I don't think I would've understand it
if I had.
Here's to all the pure souls who had their souls stolen.
And again, what terrifying brilliant relevance!

I lived Howl's time and it reflects one side of life in that period.
Ginsberg was a very talented writer. His style reminds me of the prose of
Don Delillo. Brilliant, full of mental pictures. Not easy to understand.

Hell of a poem. says so much about all of the movement going on at the time
period. revolutionist. period. i wish that half of the poets today head
this kind of sightfulness into things going down around them like he does
