it is fourth of july,
america doesn’t celebrate,
firecrackers are off in small cities,
don’t weep fortune,
my heart is sad as the dunes of Chasepeake bay
I will come back soon
when my heart hears
dances of America
staging depression,
when economy succumbs
to mysteries of new dreams.
