On A Dock - Vain Pageantry

On a dock I stood next to a boy.
We spied a sailor bound for his dreams.
“Tell me why against all instict
he guides his ship with the sun?
Asked the boy “and not the stars?”
“Because it is larger.” I replied
And he is a fool.”
