No vitae curricula. No awards. No manuscripts submitted. No published works. No self-proclaimed or accepted titles (i.e. “poet”, even worse “artist”!) — What nonsense it is to arrogate titles to oneself!
No memberships in pompous, self-aggrandizing, low self-concept, genius societies!
Many ideas come from meditative time spent at my treehouse in the Columbia River Gorge: http://www.lothlorienwoods.com
Here is a link with a little more about me from the perspective of complete strangers: http://www.flickr.com/photos/girlhula/2456088598/in/set-72157604692045546/
My compositions are oral, not written. Delivery is a performance, not a reading. First principles of composition require congruence of sound and meaning, assonance, consonance, rhythm, coherence, playfulness, fun, and ready comprehension (eminently readable, imminently obscure — T.S. Eliot’s Wasteland be damned!).
Success in attaining these principles comes when, after hundreds (sometimes thousands) of oral revisions, they are performed (not read) and welcomed with chuckles, smiles, sly winks, and ever-so-slight nods of appreciation.
