The wide blue highway
Or a narrow winding road,
It really doesn’t matter
As long as you’re walking.
Walk.Walk
That’s all you’ve gotta do
The tender desert sand
Or hard rocky mountain
It really doesn’t matter
As long as you’re walking
Walk.Walk
That’s all you’ve gotta do
The taut tight rope
Or lax corridors of power
It really doesn’t matter
As long as you’re walking
Walk.Walk
That’s all you’ve gotta do
Doors of hallowed learning
Or lessons learnt on street
It doesn’t really matter
As long as you’re walking
Walk.Walk
That’s all you’ve gotta do
The wild side of life
Or the straight and narrow path
It doesn’t really matter
As long as you’re walking
Walk.Walk.
That’s all you’ve gotta do
Walk.

I think you can interpret this poem in multi meanings but as far as im getting is that you are telling a person to walk with you no matter what happens. That implies you want your partner or friend to be with you forever whether it rains, storms or the sun shines. This poem may also mean growing towards intellectual knowlege or constantly leaning something. You want the person to keep on walking and learning from his experience and knowledge; and not to stop if that person wants to achieve his or her goal. The key of success is to keep on walking.

I like the all prevading presence of the “omnipresent” speaker in this poem, urging and encouraging the reader to walk, walk on through adversity and disappointment, whatever your pursuit. It is not a moralizing preachy poem like the ones I write sometimes! It’s a very fine poem well done, and I think the readership bears that out — it resonates.

there was a time in my life when my only activity of the day was to walk 2 hours in the afternoon….I was depressed and was not working…I learnt that walking is a very important thing which help the mind to build his house….
