The Existentialist as a Mole
(metamorphosis in Roy’s words)

I

Shall I now
Cover my head
& cower awaiting
Your fell blows

Sharpened steel
On the finger
Will it now be
On my head?

I have no illusions
About myself
Completely unmasked
For the vacillator
I am

Always keeping
One foot outside
The door the better

To flee.

II

He slunk off
To his dark corner
Eyes impervious
To light

Once more
To grope in the
Dark that is the way
To really be

Pushing mounds
Of dirt to the surface
To clear space
To spread the effects

Of his labor evenly
Over the landscape
So no sign of his rumbling
Might be perceived

By creatures of sight
Whose eyes may light
On nascent tectonic
Up swelling & imagine

Mountains where
Molehills where
Once thought to be…
Somewhere

Anywhere nowhere
That someone

Might see…

this is just too too brilliant! we can congragulate ourselves for a good job done! its so damn existentialist! check out the incerdible language - roy i’m bowled over by this!! also notice how expertly & deftly i’ve put it into poetry with a very light touch - of course your language helped a great deal! light & tight!

narcissism is the flavor of the month!
