Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Simple Reason To Buy This Norton Product
I am not a computer or tech expert in any sense of the word, but I have heavily used personal computers in my home for my entire life. Each of those computers have been guarded by some version of Norton Internet Security. Never have I ever had a computer of mine crash due to a virus, or had problems with adware or spyware. However, a few of my relatives took a bit of a cheaper route and had their PCs "protected" by other products...and those family members are constantly taking their computers into Best Buy to have the "Geek Squad" remove the multiple viruses that locked up their systems.

Like I said, I'm not extremely tech-savvy, but my common sense experience tells me that Norton is a superior product to all its competition. The only drawback is that the 2008 edition may bog down slower computers, but Symantec does allow you to revert back to the 2003 edition if need be.

I recommend spending a little extra money on this product each year, but then enjoying the security and peace of mind that it brings.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Worked great... practically ran itself...
Great product... ran smoothly and seemed to picked up all the viruses from our computer...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Norton is the BEST!
I have used other anti-virus in the past and they all gave me trouble/headaches. Once, I started using Norton all my issues went away. In addition, the ease of using their software couldn't be better. I wouldn't trade it for anything when it comes to protecting my computer.

If anyone isn't very computer savvy they make it easy for you.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Best known but not best for use
I bought this based on the widespread brand awareness and assumption that the well-known brand meant it was a good product. The user menus lack intuitiveness and it's hard to guess how to change settings, etc. Additionally, it slowed down my PC significantly.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - They want you to pay $99 more to remove a virus
I have been buying norton for many years and had no problems. However, a month ago it did not catch a virus. I kept running scans and they all came back good. I called the customer service number. No one could speak english. It almost sounded like a recording. They acted like they were going to fix the problem. Then the rep gave me a different number to call. I called this number and they wanted $99 more to get the virus off my computer. I told them I already paid for the software, and I thought the purpose of having it to take care of viruses. The kept repeating the same thing over and over....hmmm... and wanted $99. I told them no I don't have $99 for you....then..... 20 minutes later...they call me back asking again for $99. I will never purchase this product again.
