Rating: - beautiful, functional, and eco & people friendly
I love my sigg bottles. I love that they are eco-friendly and safe to use--compared to many plastic bottles out there that are made with BPA (bisphenol a). If you're not familiar with BPA, do some research. Simply put, it's bad for you. So stainless steel bottles like Sigg bottles are the way to go. Sigg bottles are pretty easy to clean too. If you purchase Sigg's special brush set, it's even easier to clean. I also love the designs and so do my friends and co-workers. So I gave some Sigg bottles out for Xmas presents last year.

Bought the .6 liter Sigg stainless steel water bottle in the Sunray turqoise design with the loop screw cap. Love the bottle, keeps water tasting great. The .6 liter is the perfect size for my need. I wish it came with the sport top also. Screwing the cap on and off is a bit of a pain. I am completely satisfied with the bottle and will probably purchase more when they are more abundantly available in the designs I like.
Rating: - Super light - beautiful designs - poor bottle top
I have Spotted Pride design - which is amazing
***Pros***
1) Deceptively light - I don't think this bottle is any heavier than a plastic bottle.
2) Durable - it has survived being dropped, clanging against the side of a bag, and shoved in all sorts of places without damage to the design - it has under hard use developed a very, very small dent
3) Healthy - no BPA means yay! Well... you get the picture. It's fairly environmentally conscious - and recyclable
<<>>
1) Opening is very small - cubed ice will not fit
2) Heats up fast
3) Bottle top is beyond abysmal - I love attaching a carabiner to it, but the love ends there. After about a month, mine started leaking if it gets tipped and I have been unsuccessful of finding a replacement locally. They used to be carried at several sporting good stores, but sadly not so frequently around here any more (sigh)

This water bottle is remarkably light weight. It keeps water cooler for longer and cools faster than water in a plastic bottle. However, I have found that after the cool water warms up, after sitting for a few hours, it starts to taste foul. I'm not sure why but it sort of defeats the purpose of using it on a long hike or keeping it with you all day. If you are able to clean it out frequently then the product is fantastic. Otherwise it's just a can of funky water.
Rating: - Not too functional
Wish I'd paid more attention to the reviewer who warned that the bottle opening was too small to fit an ice cube in it, as I don't usually have time to chill my water . I've had it 2 mos and the vinyl covering is already peeling off-- this may bother some. I'm not sure if aluminum is the most ideal material anyway for a bottle --wasn't there some controversy with aluminum a few years ago? The instructions do warn not to use with acidic liquids.I'm back to using my wide mouthed freebie plastic bottle. My opinion--it is not worth the money and If you can find a generic one cheaper-go for it.
