Rating: - Not quite as advertised
Works well as far as trimming your beard is concerned but the suction system isn't as thorough as advertised. I always end up with hair on things.
Rating: - What I expected - pretty good
I've had no problem with my trimmer. It stays on the number I set it on and performs well. The vacuum is loud, but then again, it's a vacuum so it's bound to be loud. It catches over half of the hairs, may closer to three-quarters. It makes cleanup a lot less involved than it used to be with my old trimmer.

The trimmer works fine. Except it could have a couple of setting more after the 1 setting. The blades are easy to clean and battery last for a long time once fully charged.
Overall really good product.
Rating: - Design problems but a good product
I own an earlier model of this trimmer and over all am happy with it. The only issue I had with my old one and this model which I just purchased is the "door" in the front just under the cutting blades.
On my first one, the spring hold the door up broke allowing it to drop and lose much of the vacuum. I was not really excited about purchasing another model with this same design but because the overall trimmer function has worked well for over four years decided to purchase a new one.
The only reason I purchased a new one is the charger broke and I had no way to recharge the battery and because it was over 4 years old figured the battery did not have much life in it.

Before this product, I used the T860; so my review is basically a comparison of the two experiences.
Pros:
- The T980 vacuum feature is very nice. Not perfect, but catches most whiskers. Easy to pop off, dump in trash, and pop back on.
- T980 Trim settings are almost exact to the T860's
Cons
- The T980 "Clipper Guide Comb" is made of a thicker plastic than the T860. Maneuverability right under the nose is difficult resulting in longer whiskers near my nostrils. The T860 got in close under the same trim settings.
- I've found no use for the "Turbo" function
- When I take the "Clipper Guide Comb" off for manual cleaning, it is difficult to put it back on.
