Rating:  - Generally good performances, but something lacking
The performances of this music, all of which is top-quality material, are generally quite good, and some are great - but something is missing. There is a presence and brilliance missing that these pieces need to shine. It may be the recording quality, the engineering, or maybe the conductor, but where the music should ring and blaze and knock your socks off, it doesn't. The brass and percussion sound weak and too far back. Overall, it is a bit too mellow, too recessed, too soft.

After being at a summer spectacular event where the fireworks were coordinated with upbeat "march" music, I set out to find a CD that contained similar songs. I found "I Love A Parade" to be the prefect solution. The Boston Pops are great to begin with and this collection of songs is no different!
