Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
The party line on most Windham Hill products seems to be that it's either the greatest stuff since wave machines, or that it all sounds alike. On a Starry Night, with its collection of world songs and reputable artists such as Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, the Turtle Island String Quartet, and others, does lean toward a seamlessly understated, homogeneous quality that is broken only occasionally by Bobby McFerrin's piece and a couple of others. That said, there can hardly be a more mellow or sonorous album of kid's music anywhere. Starry Night could calm a nursery with no nurses; why, it could even soothe the pained yelps at the dog pound--and turn a freeway full of bumper-to-bumper sour pusses into pussycats. Effective? You've heard of mind control, haven't you? --Martin Keller

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Must Have
I bought this CD based on the reviews and it was everything everyone said it was. I have older children that are in college and want the CD because when they listen to it with their brother, it's so relaxing. If you want gentle background music to lull your child to sleep, this is it. If you want to destress with soothing music, this is it. Excellent.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - a lot of wind instruments...
I bought this CD because of all the rave reviews I read about it. The other people must have been a bit more earthy-crunchy than I am. I found all the wind instruments a bit boring. I think I like to hear a little more piano or something... I love the baby Mozart CD but I thought my baby needed a change every once in a while. Thats why I bought this one. It's ok....

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I LOVE this CD....
I just love this CD. It puts my 4 month old, and me, to sleep every night. It soo soothing and relaxing, and really just beautiful music. I encourage you to take a few minutes and listen to the samples....

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very soothing
This is the only sleepytime album that our little one listens to and it works to put him to sleep every time.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful
My daughter recieved this CD as a gift for her 2nd birthday. For the last 2+ years she has listened to it almost every single night when going to sleep. It is such a beautiful and peaceful compilation. It was a great compromise to get rid of the night light!
