I bought a Sony HDR SR11 AVCHD video camera which i have been very happy with. Instantly you realize that you need editing software. After researching all the available software that will edit avchd i settled on Vegas pro 8.Its worked flawlessly.You will be making almost professional video in no time. Rating:  - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH NEWER CANON HG21
Just bought a new Canon HG21 AVCHD and this software will not recognize it. Hooked up my older Sony Mini DV and it works fine. BEWARE! Sony claims UNRESOLVED ISSUES!

Program easy to use and all instuctions clear for even the first time user. Amazon has the retail price wrong though. It sells at Sony for 549.99 not 699.00 as they have on there sell for price.
Rating: - Seamless Editing control
This is by far the most_stable video editing software out there. Works extreemly well with larger HD files and rendering is seamless. I've had it for over four months and no issues at all. Great interface. ALso comes with DVD architect which alone is great as well.

Sony "Vegas Pro 8" is simply one of the best high-end video editing software on the market. The package includes Vegas Pro 8 and DVD Architect Pro 4.5. (Update 1/3/2009: Vegas Pro 8 users can update to DVD Architect Pro 5 for free, providing Blu-Ray support).
