I first encountered this book in college as part of an overview of poetry. As an English teacher, I have used it every year since (going on 15 years now). This book has an excellent selection of poetry from the earliest known examples to 1980's modern. It also has one of the most clear and complete glossaries of terms I have ever come across. This is a resource that every English teacher should have!
