I am pleased with the Avanti wine chiller at this point. Even though it was damaged a bit during delivery, cabinet bent and dented, the unit is operating as it is suppose to. I received the unit in a very timely manner and was offeered a chance to return the unit when I reported the damage. I chose to keep the unit because of its operation and the fact that I ordered it to be built into our new kichen, which it was. It arrived, I got it out of the box, plugged it in and it worked fine. The only downside I might see to it is that the switch for the light is inside, in the back behind the top bottle. I would like it better to be able to switch the light on & off from the outside, but hey, for the price it's great.

Too small for different tpyes of wine bottles. When I called Customer Sevice they said it fits only standard sizes bottles. No where does it say it only fits standard size bottles. There is no such thing anymore as standard size bottles. If you buy wine almost every bottle is shaped differently. It is also is too small for a Champagne bottle. There is not enough room between the shelves to fit the bottles so I had to take out two shelves which now makes it a 6-8 bottle capacity.

I think I have the previous model of this cooler. At the time I bought it, I read a few reviews where someone was mad that theirs was DOA, and a couple others who expected refigerator-quality cooling from it: they plugged it in and watched how long it took it to get down to 35 degrees. Guess what - it won't. The best the thermoelectric cooling unit can do is about 20 below ambient room temperature... Which is a lot better than room temperature for wine. I have a small kitchen and have redone it with lots of new space. I am also selling the home and to have a modern style in the kitchen. This add's lots of style and up-grade. This works great nice light inside to high light it. Enjoy it...
