Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good Recipes, Too Many Canned Ingredients
I got a used copy of this book today, and I've already gone through most of the recipes. Some are very authentic, and most seem like they will turn out well. As others have already mentioned, there are many recipes that call for canned vegetables (asparagus and green beans in particular). This was very surprising to me, a native southerner, but I will withhold judgement on those recipes, they might be fine, although fresh vegetables would undoubtedly be more authentic and probably taste a lot better. ... Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Blue Willow Inn Cookbook
I enjoyed this cookbook so much, that I ordered 2 more copies for my daughter and daughter-in-law. We do many parties, and the back of the books offers how much food to prepare for numbers of people.

    Loved the cookbook!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - I'm Southern, and I love this cookbook

I like this book - this IS Southern cooking as I know it. I'm not a big fan of processed foods, but the recipes I've used from this book didn't include those. There are PLENTY ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Awesome Southern Cookbook!
I just got this book not long ago and I could not be happier with it. This is definitely traditional southern food as I know it. Some reviewers implied that the recipes are laden with convenience items but as I thumb through the book-there are just as many that contain fresh or basic ingredients. I mean, let's be fair,ANY collection of over 600 Southern recipes is going to include convenience items. As for the reviewer who returned her book because the biscuit recipe contains self-rising flour instead ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Blah!
This book is a great plug for canned soup companies. I expected better considering this is an "Inn Bible of Southern Cooking". This is just plain slop food.
