I recently decided to replace the old oversized, battery eating, incandescent flashlights my machinists were using. I was burning through a box of D batteries every couple weeks. I first purchased two of the Mag 3-cells, and let a couple of my machinists try them out. They commented on the improved lighting and also the strong white light they emitted. They also found them easier to maneuver in tight confines. The rest of my staff was quickly jealous, so I bought 12 more.
Rating:  - Very bright AA flashlight at a brilliant price
I have a couple of the Mag LED flashlights (2&3 D Cell), but wanted something that would fit in the center console of my truck easily, and though it is a little larger than I expected it does a great job. Honestly it has to be the best bang for the buck out there. Made by a company that is known for it's high quality and near bullet proof products. These small flashlights are bright than our 2 d Mag-lights we've just replaced and I believe they batteries are rated at about the same lifetime expectancy. ... Read More
Rating: - Mag has done it.
I had previously purchased several LED flashlights. I took them back they simply were not bright enough. I thought that Mag may have solved the problem. They have! This little AA 3 watt LED blew away even my two D cell. It even came close to my six D cell. I liked it so much I decided to buy a Mag 2 D cell LED. That is better than the six D cell!

After going to Home Depot who didn't have this particular style of Maglite, I went on the internet and did a search. That narrowed the search down to Amazon and a few others. I was able to get the color and free shipping by adding another item. It arrived in a couple of days and I've been using it since. Very happy!
Rating: - A good light.
A good light. Nice battery life (as with most LEDs). Nice to be able to use the "candle mode" during power outages. Will provide workable light to an entire living room for many hours.
If I were looking for one drawback, it's that the 3 cell AA light is a little longer/taller than the 2 AA light. It would be more prone to fall over on an unstable surface. However, that's not a problem for most people.
This is a light that should last a lifetime unless it is abused.
