In association with Amazon.com

Binding: Apparel
Brand: Rick Steves
Fabric Type: Ultra-soft microfiber
Sales Rank: 28965

Features:
  • Soft and Light: Made from ultra-soft microfiber, our light-duty "little city" bag (featured in Rick's TV series) won't weigh you down.
  • Practical: It's surprisingly roomy (13" x 10" x 7", over 900 cubic inches), featuring three zippered compartments, a pair of padded straps, and two side mesh water bottle pockets.
  • Handy: It rolls up into practically nothing when not in use. Stuff a jacket inside, and it's a soft travel pillow.
  • Rave Review: John Flinn (Travel Editor, San Francisco Chronicle) writes about our Civita pack, "This is pretty close to the perfect travel daypack. Tough and spacious, it's got plenty of room for a camera, fleece sweater, rain jacket, guidebook and a bottle of Côtes du Rhône. Pockets keep your Swiss Army knife, maps and journal handy. And when it's empty, it squashes down to virtually nothing in the bottom of your luggage."

Product Description:
Everyone needs a day bag. You leave your big bag at the station or in the hotel and function out of this. A purse attracts thieves. To a thief, this innocent looking little bag falls into the student's book bag category - not very exciting. It's sturdy but super light. Though it feels too thin to be strong, it is plenty strong. The roomy main compartment is good for sweater, picnic, and souvenirs. The large outer pocket is good for sunglasses, camera, cell phone, guidebooks and so on. And the small outer pocket is your organizer for tickets and tiny things you might prefer to keep here rather than in your pocket. The two mesh side pockets are great for your water bottle, magazine, or umbrella. The Civita day bag is the one you see on Rick's TV shows.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Super Day Pack!
I just did a whirlwind tour of Italy. 2 weeks of go, go, go and this pack was with me every step of the way. It is so light!! I wasn't expecting the material to be so soft and pliable. Held EVERYTHING I needed for being out and about from sun-up to way past sundown. It was invaluable and I will be using it all the time just for whatever. Great purchase.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - well designed, mediocre quality
This bag is well designed but of poor quality. I use it for day trips & short hikes. It comfortably accommodates everything I need: water bottles, dog bowls, snacks, first aid kit, etc. It's a good size for my 5'2" frame. It balances comfortably on my back.I barely notice I'm wearing it.

Now for the down side. I`ve had it a about 6 months and use it maybe 2 or 3 times a week. It`s gently used, cleaned out regularly and carries nothing sharp. It already has 2 small holes and the ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great day pack for travel
Both my husband and I had these packs on our recent trip abroad, and they worked great for carrying what we needed for the day. The material is very soft, and it weighs practically nothing!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best!
I travel quite a bit and this is my second Civita Day Pack (the first was stolen). I added a few straps to the bag (one on each side and one on the top) in order to roll-up and secure a light rain jacket to the outside of the pack. I travel mostly in the late spring or fall, so I need both a sweater or sweatshirt and rain jacket. The pack is large enough to carry a telephoto lens wrapped in a sweater for safety along with notebooks gloves, extra camera gear, and I pack a small tripod by hooking ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good Value
Great value for the money. It's a light weight pack that can be rolled up (or layed flat) in a very small piece for storage in a suitcase to use at a destination, or use it as a second carry on bag when you travel by air. Perhaps you will pack those always necessary electronic rechargers that you have to travel with, or socket converters. Or you can use it as an around-town bag when you don't want to carry a purse. It holds quite a lot of stuff if you pack it full. This pack is not indestructable, ... Read More
