I was lucky. I had this DVD player for nearly a year before it suddenly stopped working. I had just used it recently, but today it refuses to power on under any circumstances. It was plugged into a quality surge protector, so I doubt a surge killed it. It just died. I decided to take a look inside, mostly to see if I had left a disc in the tray. Rating: - Temporary/Disposable piece of trash
Bought 2 of these Coby DVD players 4 months ago and neither of them respond to any input, either manually or by remote. The warranty has expired, mail to Coby has produced no results, repair is more costly than the original price. I am stuck. Please help me put this company out of business by not buying ANY of their products. What a COMPLETE rip-off.

Horrible product. Avoid even for free. Not woth the headache. Great features except for one...it won't play your DVD. Does not recognize disks after one week.
