This is the answer; to powering all those peripheral's power adapters, especially for your computer.
Whoever designs the peripheral power adapters seems to think that their products power is the only one that is important.
I hate using a standard surge protector and have only 3 or 4 things plugged in, because some bonehead's plug-in takes up 2 places on the strip.
This squid works well for those situations.

I really like power squids. They are great for electronics, particularly when you have several "wall wart" type supplies that need to be plugged in. With a regular power strip, "wall warts" often take up 2-3 plugs greatly limiting a power strips effectiveness. This works around the issue. The only downside is that this is slightly bulkier than a power strip. If you have the room or the need, I still highly recommend this over a power strip due to ease of use and availability of all outlets. ... Read More
Rating: - Very Handy especially for Bulky Chargers
I love this product...I have 3 in my house. It is great to get the plugs away from the wall when the outlet is in an inconvenient spot and great for lots of bulky power chargers! Also it has a surge suppressor...make sure to get the one with it, they also sell them without it.
Rating: - Sturdy and Versatile Surge Protector
Although the PowerSquid looks like a prop from "War of the World" it is a great design for a PowerStrip/SurgeProtector. The construction is extremely sturdy since it is made of a very heavy rubber material. Wall worts will not be a problem with this design either.
The only problem I am having is finding a good permanent location to mount the long and bulky PowerSquid. I normally mount power strips to the inside or outside legs of my computer desk, but such a placement of this device ... Read More

The PowerSquid is one of those inventions that works well and looks cool to boot. The idea of solving the wall wart problem seems so simple, and yet why did it take this long for something like this to come out at an affordable price?
