Although I was glad to find slender tampons, I was disappointed that the somewhat rounded tip was just the end of the cotton tampon. I purchased these for my pre-teen and teen daughters because of their slim size. I prefer a plastic rounded tip, but I've also been okay with cardboard rounded tips. I feel that the cotton part of the tampon being the first thing to insert creates discomfort which isn't pleasant for first-time tampon users.
