Yes, it really does. If you have waxed and are tired of paying out the cash regularly, this will do the plucking, and pay for itself in two uses. No more pain than waxing, even less because you do just a small area at a time. The only drawbacks are that it does take a while, but no more than a trip to the salon. Also, it works better while plugged in, runs a little slower on the battery, otherwise I would have given it the five stars.

I had the original coil epilady for 18 years, and despite the pain (which I eventually got used to) it really worked well on my legs. The Epilady Legend Epilator has a few plusses over the original: it works on legs, underarm and bikini areas. It being rechargeable is a really nice perk, too! Finally, it is not as painful as the coil used to be. However, in the two times I have used it since its purchase, I have found it misses some hairs unlike the original coil. It didn't last as long as I'd have liked. But worked as well as any of the other ones.
Once those plastic gears break, these become disposable :(
