About EVA
EVA is a copolymer or cross-linked foam made of ethylene and vinyl acetate. It is made up of hundreds of thousands of foam cells that contain air or gas. When you land on EVA foam it is compressed, replenishing with air when the weight is off that foot. By compressing EVA in a pressurized mold the midsole forms a thick skin which helps the EVA last longer. It also provides more structural integrity to the midsole.

About adidas
The vision of company founder Adolf Dassler has long become reality, and his corporate philosophy the guiding principle for successor generations. The idea was as simple as it was brilliant. Adi Dassler’s aim was to provide every athlete with the best possible equipment. It all began in 1920, when Adi Dassler made his first shoes using the few materials available after the First World War.

The adidas name dates back to 1948, deriving from the first two syllables of Adi Dassler’s first and last name. One year later, Adi Dassler registered the Three Stripes as a trademark.
After a period spanning almost 70 years, the Dassler Family withdrew from the company in 1989, and the enterprise was transformed into a corporation ('Aktiengesellschaft'). French-born Robert Louis-Dreyfus was Chairman of the Executive Board from April 1993 to March 2001. It was he who initiated adidas’ flotation on the stock market in November 1995. adidas--a name that stands for competence in all sectors of sport around the globe. Today, the adidas product range extends from shoes, apparel and accessories for basketball, soccer, fitness and training to adventure, trail and golf.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome Running Shoe!
This shoe has been great so far! It's good for running, taking classes at the gym. It's a great all-around shoe. Really comfortable and a very cool look to the shoe. Very happy with my purchase!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great running shoe but why is price way up?
The double-edged sword of rating a product highly: you help out fellow shoppers but then the vendor raises the price. I bought this exact shoe 1-1/2 yrs ago for $45 w/free Super-Saver shipping. Now the shoe costs $73 + shipping? Maybe we should all keep our mouths shut. And what's w/the different pricing for different sizing? Sounds like discrimination to me. Could be a federal offense.

I've given it 5 stars to see how much higher the price rises.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Pretty but not as good as Mega Bounce
I bought this to replace a pair of Adidas Mega Bounce. This shoes do not have as much cushion and comfort as the Mega Bounce. I bought it because Amazon didn't have a pair of Mega Bounce on my size.

It is ok for short distance walking but for long distance walking and running, I need more cushioning. I felt pain in my toes after a mile and I could use a bit more arch support.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Stylish Shoe
Love the look of these shoes - a stylish stand out. As usual I bought a half-size bigger (a nine to my normal 8.5). It's a narrow shoe and fits snugly, and I got blisters on my instep during my first 10 miler. Having run 50+ road miles on them, they're broken in and are now quite comfy. I expected a softer landing with more bounce (maybe I'll try the Megabounce next time?), but overall I'm pleased with the Gigardide. They look cool enough to wear with jeans and should be great for trampling through ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Shoe!
I recently had foot surgery and wanted to pick out a comfortable and supportive shoe. This shoe is all of that and it looks great! I ordered the shoe 1/2 size larger than I wear thinking that with my surgery I might need that, but I didn't. It's a little big but that's o.k. I would recommend this shoe to anyone!
