Bought this product and it worked flawlessly up until it died after 1 year and 7 months. Resets were very uncommon, happening once every 3 months or so, although these were probably only needed due to errors by the ISP. I did run this modem 24x7 365 which may have led to its demise, but also it may have just been a bad apple; therefore, I'm giving it a 4 star rating.

This item is nothing less than you would prefer when buying technology. Take it out of the box and use it. Set it and forget it.
Rating:  - Motorola warranty procedure STINKS!
I purchased this cable modem four months ago. It worked fine - for four months - then it started dropping the connection. Turns out, the connections for the ethernet cable are defective at the circuit board level. (No physical damage or stress caused the defect - it sits safely in a closed media closet.) Motorola agreed to replace it but I must pay for the shipping of the new one to me or else wait for two weeks while I send the defective one to them. Once they get it they will send another to me ... Without a doubt, this is one product that I would highly recommend you buy. It is easy to setup and to configure. The on/off switch on top of the unit is a saver for me for the times I don't want to connect to the Internet.

The SB5120 Surfboard Cable Modem was exceptionally easy to install and use. I have been pleased with the quality, speed, etc. The price was good and it arrived very quickly after placing the order. I am really pleased with this purchase.
