Rating:  - Works well as long as it works
I've used this product to increase heat flow in a room that is at the end of a end of a long duct run. It's a little loud but not so loud to drown out the television. It took a little experimenting to get the thermostat setting correct but once I had it right it worked well all season. I didn't try it for A/C so I just put the unit in storage until the next season. When I got it out and set it up in the fall it would not work at all. Cons:
-First of all, it is too loud. You certainly do not want this in your bedroom.
-It does not look appealing at all. It looks like a huge brick on top of your register. I saw another product that is flushed on the floor, looks much better and yet even more expensive. (I can not review it as I do not own it).
-Cheap plastic and construction.
-The difference in temperature is almost negligible
-Expensive

Our master bedroom is on the top level of our house, two levels above the central A/C blower unit for that part of the house. Our master bedroom is also at the very end of the HVAC run, and has large windows that take up most of the east wall of the room. Rating: - Worked until fan burned out
I used it for A/C in the summer, and it worked fine for about a year, then the fan burned out.
Rating: - It helps but don't expect miracles.
I have been using 3 units for many months. My upstairs temperature varies quite a bit from the main floor. I have 2 of these units in one room and one in another. The room used to be about 6-8 degrees different than the main floor. I am guessing it is now more like 3-5 off. That is in the winter. I haven't used them in the summer with the AC yet.
