Balance BARE makes a great power bar; I use several flavors for meal replacements for primarily breakfast or lunch on the go. Of course, freshness is a major issue; the first thing I check when my shipment comes is the expiration date. On this recent purchase, it's June 2009, and they taste fine. If there was an issue, I would call Amazon directly versus trying to resolve it via e-mail. Like I said in my previous review, I used to think they (BALANCE) REALLY had the market wrapped up in the flavor department, on those Gold Caramel bars that kind of tasted like a snickers bar, then I read the reviews for these & decided to give them a try as I was kind of getting tired of the same bars ( I bought 10 cases of the gold caramel ones, as I have 7 kids & IF I hoped to have a few when I wanted them I had to buy "extra" to share, when they did the puppy dog eyes at me as I nibbled ... Rating: - balance bar trail mix review
Trail mix Balance bars for some reason have become impossible to find in stores. They are one of the few bars that are gluten free that I like. Working people with celiac disease can have a hard time with lunches at work and Balance Bars save me. i'm not a big lunch eater but I do need the sustenance during the day. Balance Bars have it all for me. The nuts, fruit and consistency make the bars the perfect one for me. i particularly like the automatic ordering I can do with Amazon.

I recently tried these and was pleasantly surprised at the taste. I can't stand balance bars usually; they have a funny taste to them. These reminded me of good granola. Not too sweet, nice and crunchy, with a bit of salty snap as well. Also, very happy at the lack of artificial sweeteners. It's nice to see something more natural with a high protein content. A satisfied customer.
Rating: - A good compromise.
If you're looking for sweet snack that's healthier than a "Snickers", search no more. However, if your motives aren't that pure, you may notice that you still go back to "Snickers" on your weak days . (It's unfair: BB's trying to do the right thing, while candy companies will do anything chemistry allows to get our saliva flowing.) "Balance" is closing the gap betwen what's "good" for us, and our old treats. Until that gap is completely gone...
