Tests all types of commonly used batteries including 9 Volt batteries. A little tricky to lift the arm up and line up the battery you are testing. So, if you have arthritis or a hand tremor this may not be the best device for you. Self powered so no battery required for operation. The tester didn't work at all right out of the packaging, and was so inexpensive that I just tossed it rather than hassle with returns. The Amazon service is great, but I didn't want to bother; I needed it now, for work, so I went to the store and bought another.

Radio shack sells the same product for the same price, so just buy it there and save on the shipping cost.

Here is what was needed: simple, robust tool to get the job done. This nails it. Not much else is needed. I went through 20 batteries this week, charged them all fully and then ran it through this tool. two were dead, so i disposed of them. It works!
