The Whirlpool 8171414 Ice and Water filter fits Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and Kenmore refrigerators where the filter is located inside the refrigerator compartment. It has better filtering capability than the 8171413 filter including cyst removal. This filter cartridge replaces Whirlpool WFI-NL200, Kitchenaid 8171788, and Sears Kenmore 46-9002 (or any Kenmore filter where the Kenmore refrigerator model number starts with 106 AND the filter is located inside the refrigerator compartment - these refrigerators are made for Kenmore by Whirlpool). It improves the taste and odor of the water and removes the following impurities: 99.99% of Cysts, 97% of Chlorine, Taste/Odor, 99.96% of Particulates, 99.3% of Lead, 99.5% of Turbidity. It Does Not Remove Flouride. Whirlpool recommends that you replace the filter Every 6 months OR If the refrigerator has not been used for more than two weeks (for instance, during a move) OR If you notice a decrease in the flow of water or objectionable tastes in the water or ice.
