Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
A sneaky and surprisingly smart horror flick, Cabin Fever sets up all the cliches of its particular subgenre (what might be called the 'sexy young people go into the woods' horror movie, featuring hostile redneck locals, dead animals on hooks, cars that suddenly stop running, etc.) and by the end has played a clever twist on every standard element, often to darkly comic effect. What's the plot? Well, five sexy young people (Rider Strong, Jordan Ladd, Joey Kern, Cerina Vincent, and James DeBello) go to an isolated cabin where they contract a nasty bacteria that eats their flesh; this, combined with a bad-tempered dog and a party-loving police deputy (Giuseppe Andrews, giving a particularly funny performance), leads everyone into confusion and bloody chaos. Some of the ironic twists are a little obvious, but most of them effectively subvert your expectations to entertaining effect. --Bret Fetzer

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's a good movie
The first time i saw this movie was on sci-fi. It was good. Not great, not my favorite, but good. This is a movie i would bring to a friends slumber party. It didn't make me laugh, it didn't make me scream but on some occasions it made me look away. There is a good share of gore that i think the movie needed at times. The kid that bit the guys hand was a little odd and i don't think the movie needed it but it's not like they can go back a change it. i personally didn't like the ending but i heard ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Eli Roth is a hack
Clever spoof? Scary Movie was a clever spoof. This piece of garbage is poorly scripted, poorly acted, etc....etc..... After seeing it I wanted to open my skull and scoop out any memory of it. Do yourself a favor, if you are thinking about buying this mess please DON'T reproduce. The world has enough stupid people. And by the way Amazon, how about adding a negative stars option to the rating system. It felt dirty having to give this crap even one star.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - EWW...
THIS FLICK WAS ONE OF THE BEST FLICKS DONE IN A LONG TIME. IT HAS LOTS OF RAW MEAT & BLOOD. EXCITING AND IT IS A FLICK DEFINITLEY WORTH OWNING. IF YOU LIKE GROSS, THEN THIS IS A MOVIE FOR YOU! I LOVE IT!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Awesome for the people who love dark comedy
ONLY buy this movie if you like to laugh... The whole thing is meant to be funny/ironic, like a satire. There is lovely gore and quite a few sex scenes, but that's Eli Roth for you. I personally LOVE this movie, but all my friends think it's very very strange.
My point is, you might as well buy this movie--USED-- because if you're looking at it, you really might like it. It's not scary, it is not a horror, it's simply discusting and wonderful. There really is nothing else like it.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - You'll Laugh Your Face Off
If you expect a serious horror film then you'll be badly disappointed with Cabin. If, on the other hand, you don't mind a clever spoof of the genre then you'll find a well executed example here.

The cliches in Cabin are simply too numerous and too obvious for me to conclude that the writers really meant this film to be taken seriously. You have the country-folk that don't trust strangers, the nice guy and the nice girl he likes, the frat boy oaf, the token black guy, not to mention the ... Read More
