RI (Remote Interactive): With Onkyo’s exclusive RI (Remote Interactive) system capability, you can integrate and operate all compatible components through a single remote control. Your iPod effectively becomes another Onkyo component from which you can relish a fuller sound that just can’t be experienced through headphones. VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry): Conventional D/A conversion methods reduce digital pulse noise at the conversion stage but can’t remove it completely. Previously only found on our high-end components, VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) employs a unique D/A conversion circuit to overcome this problem. Data is converted between sampling points and these points are joined with analog vectors in real-time to produce a smooth output wave form. The result — a virtually noiseless, smooth analog signal based on the digital source to bring out even the most subtle of nuances in your music, movie soundtracks and even MP3s.
MP3 Playback: This audio format achieves about a 10:1 compression over conventional CD audio. What does this mean? You can store many more songs using the same amount of space. For example, a standard 650MB CD can hold more than 200 songs in MP3 format. Various bitrates allow for higher or lower quality, depending on the desired sound quality of the final recording.

I was looking for a CD changer that was moderately priced but high quality. I've only had this for a month but so far but I think I found what I was looking for. I would definitely recommend this product.

Recently bought this unit as an upgrade. I really prefer a multi-disc changer with a random function, versus a single disc player, as a way to mix up some favorite discs. The audio is simply excellent. I am hearing all the detail I would expect in a high-end single disc player. I note very little noise from the unit as the discs change, and silence through the speakers as this occurs. I bought this item 6 months ago and doesn't work now. I have to cut the power to see if im lucky and play a CD when is reconnected. I dont have a near option for send it for service, so I prefer to buy another CD Changer, but of course another brand.
Rating: - Great while/if it lasts
I bought this [new] from Amazon not quite 1 year ago and now it's dead. The sound quality seemed great (but then again I do have a 70's Marantz receiver and big JBL speakers), but now the on/off gets stuck on standby, then the tray won't open, and when I can finally try to play a CD, it starts skipping then stops playing. I even bought a CD-brush cleaner but the problem wasn't as simple as a little dust.

My old Technics turntable CD changer recently died. I purchased it back in the early 1990's. Since I had an Onkyo receiver, I decided to try out this Onkyo turntable CD changer. While it is a good and reliable product, it didn't really stand out from other CD changers I have seen and heard. Some people have remarked that when they bought this new CD changer that they could hear a real improvement in the sound quality of their music CDs. It sounded the same to me as my old Technics.
