Rating:  - A complete non-starter and entirely unprofessional!
I'd read a single issue off the newstand and wanted to indulge myself with a subscription. I asked for it for Christmas last year and my son was kind of enough to give me a gift subscription. Despite repeated attempts at phone and e-mail contact by both my son and myself we have been resolutely ignored and no magazines have ever arrived. There just isn't any excuse for that. Colour me disillusioned and very, very angry.
Not recommended at all, of course.

I was very disappointed with my first issue of "The Strand." Very few stories, a couple of interviews and the rest was book reviews. For the price of the magazine and the fact that is a quarterly, it is a very sparse magazine. Although beautiful to look at and easy to read, there just isn't enough substance between the front and back covers.

Ever since I first encountered Nancy Drew (back in the Cretaceous Period), I have been a mystery fan. This elegant magazine keeps me stoked -- with excellent reviews of new and interesting things, fine articles and interviews, and fun stories that range from the hard boiled to the cozy, all in inimitable British style.
