Compact enough to be carried in pocket or purse, this electronic device stores up to four different medications and signals when it's time for each to be taken. By providing both an audio signal (a beeper) and a visual signal (a flashing icon on the LED screen) the device offers assurance that a medication time will not be overlooked. The pill timer operates on a long-life battery (which is included). Setting up to four pill timings for the digital clock to track is simple (clear instructions are included), and the beeper can be muted overnight. Partitions between the four pill compartments can be removed to create more space in fewer compartments. The cover rotates, bringing its door to each compartment in turn, and opening the door (press and slide) is child-proof. On the bottom of the case is a label listing medical history and emergency contact information. The timer measures 2-3/4 inches in diameter. --Fred Brack

I purchased my Lumiscope 1247 pillbox/timer at the end of the last summer. It took me quite a long time to get used to setting the timer, but once I did it successfully I have had no problems. It is absolutely NOT necessary to have to reset it each day - my alarm goes off every 8 hours, round the clock, no matter which time-zone I am in (went to Italy, U.S. and the Carribbean, and never had a problem). This thing sucks. The directions suck. Once you thought you have it right, HA! You missed another dose. As others say, it more like a count down clock, with PMS. Another draw back the pill chambers are really small. Truely if you took that little of Rx you wouldn't really need a timer. It's a great concept. But concepts don't help you from missing your medication. Even at $3.00 its a waste of money...

I've had the Lumiscope 1247 pill case/timer for a few years now, and I find it very handy. If you need to take medications one, two, three, or four times per day, I've not found anything else like it. It has some clever features to it, such as the way it segregates your four medication doses, and the way it can keep track of timings for all four doses -- it's like four timers in one. This is perfect for taking meds five times a day like I do. It's easy to use, the timer is loud and it works exactly how it's advertised. I gave it 1 star because the batteries died after 10 days of use. I'm going to attempt to get this resolved and I will pass on how and if this gets resolved in another review.

Rating: - Electronic pill timer
I have tried numerous times and can't program the timer for the correct time. I progam it according to the instructions step by step and it will still alarm 2 hours before my set time. It will also alarm on "mute".
