Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Oldie but goodie
This lens is soon to be replaced with the new (circa-2009) f/1.4 AF-S lens. Since the most important aspect of a lens is the glass, I would *definitely* purchase this over the $150+ more expensive new lens (although the new model has eight [8] elements vs. seven [7] in this lens).

I purchased this in December, 2008, (before the holidays) for use with my Nikon D90. While the DX camera has a 1.5X multiplier (so this is effectively a 75mm lens), it does great work from f/1.4 all the way ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - F1.4, need I say more?
Before purchasing this I debated between this and the cheaper F1.8 but now that I have it I'm glad to have spent the extra $$. Of course there's almost no depth of field with it wide open so you have to focus very carefully, especially at close range. Autofocus doesn't have a lot to do but it's fast ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent lens
Excellent lens for shallow depth of field pics, I found it very useful for food photography.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - IM FEEL LIKE A KID IN A CANDY STORE!!!
I wonder what took me so long to buy this lens but after reading reviews on other sites I felt I needed to at least try it out. I went to my local camera store here in LA and the owner let me play with it for the day ---- I purchased it when I came back... its that good... buy it buy it buy it

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - awesome high aperture lens
its a great lens for high aperture shoots. keep in mind if you have a Nikon D40 or D60 the auto focus will not work, you will have to manually focus the lens. other then that is is a great lens
