Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Plane crashes, pickpockets, hurricanes--heaven and hell is moving to prevent our able hero Ben (Ben Affleck) from marrying his sweetie (Maura Tierney) in Savannah. At every turn he runs into someone else despairing about the woes of married life. And of course, temptation proves overwhelming in the face of traveling companion Sarah (Sandra Bullock), the wild woman whom he can't seem--or doesn't want--to lose.
After a wayward bird flies into the engine of his airplane, Ben is forced to find another way to his wedding. He finds himself stuck with Sarah, whom he carried from the plane after she was whacked in the noggin by his laptop. The heat between them is unmistakable, and the drama in the film comes from the 'will he or won't he,' both in terms of sleeping with Sarah and meeting up with his bride. Forces of Nature is a fun and sentimental road-trip film, but Ben is such a strait-laced noodge, you can't help but want him to fall flat on his face just a little. Bullock is the life of this film, although her free-spirited ways get a bit tired (responsibility is not all bad). The highlight of this movie, though, is definitely the cinematography. The beautiful rain shots and the colors of the scenes lend to the unsettling mood. While the jokes are not rip-roaring, Forces is to be reckoned with for those times when a lighthearted film is what you need. --Jenny Brown

Rating: - force of nature--
Just didn't get the point of this movie. IT has sorry a ending. The story of an engaged man getting trapped with a woman that is a bit on the loony side. **spoiler** They end up getting together after trying very hard not to. They decide that they are meant to be together but only in the end separate!!
Rating: - A complete mess!
Forces of Nature is probably my least favorite film of Sandra Bullock's career. There's nothing wrong with her performance, she is funny and brilliant as always but to me Ben Affleck's wooden acting ruined this so-so film. There are parts of this film I like and parts I do not. The film has a week premise and never takes float, the ending is disappointing and the writing is sloppy. If you want a great Sandra Bullock film then check out 28 Days or Practical Magic, leave this one on the shelf.
Rating: - Good conversation piece
I'll spare the plot summary since there are already 72 reviews as of this writing so I'll write on the jist of the movie. Remove all the unrealistic scenes and this movie is basically a good conversation piece for you and your lover (wife, girlfriend, whatever) because it has to do with choices in relationships. Yes, the movie will reflect the basic sentiment prevalent nowadays regarding marriage which is basically that a successful one is a crap shot. But for those who have been run over by that ... Do you remember when that woman in tie dye puts up her left leg in that one tide commercial??? That's EXACTLY what this whole movie is like. Sandra Bullock, as usual, put up a very strong performance, but Ben Affleck (who in this movie was KINDA HEAVY AND NOT TOO SWEET) was a weak point. But anyway, back to the Tide analogy. So in the commercial, the woman gives a little scream, sways back and forth, looks like she's going to be sick, and then instead pulls a rabbit out of the dryer. Just like ... Read More

"forces of nature", once again, one of my favorites because i could relate to this.
not because something extremely hilarious, outrageously crazy of travelling and meeting a handsome stranger happened to me because this part (of course!) did NOT happen to me.
but i could relate because perhaps, it has happened to people, where you are in one part of your life, thinking everything is as it should be, then, due to the forces of nature beyond our control, life and love gets ... Read More
