Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
This Western has become a modest cult favorite since its release in 1993, when the film was met with mixed reviews but the performances of Kurt Russell (as Wyatt Earp) and especially Val Kilmer, for his memorably eccentric performance as the dying gunslinger Doc Holliday, garnered high praise. The movie opens with Wyatt Earp trying to put his violent past behind him, living happily in Tombstone with his brothers and the woman (Dana Delany) who puts his soul at ease. But a murderous gang called the Cowboys has burst on the scene, and Earp can't keep his gun belt off any longer. The plot sounds routine, and in many ways it is, but Western buffs won't mind a bit thanks to a fine cast and some well-handled action on the part of Rambo director George P. Cosmatos, who has yet to make a better film than this. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Movie Ever Made
Love the DVD. My VCR tape finally wore out. I can really understand the words better- much clearer than the tape.
This is a must have in every home if you like a good action packed movie that has serious moments, good laughs and great lines about how to think about life and living in it.
Val Kilmer, Kurt Russell and Sam Elliott at their best.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Epic movie making
In my humble opinion, Tombstone is one of the best westerns made. I wasn't looking for a history lesson, I can watch the history channel for that. I was looking for movie entertainment at it's hyperbolic best. Every character; the good, the bad, the ugly are over the top. This movie is fun. I watched Kevin Costner's Wyatt Earp and was continually yawning. I loved the portrayal of Curly Bill in Tombstone, just capital. Ringo is intellectually maniacal. And dear Ike, as dufus as he is, he's ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tombstone the definitive western story
Becoming if not already a classic tale of Wyatt Earp and his family and friends. Excellent cast and outstanding performances. A truly moving and sometimes shocking view into the "wild" west and beyond.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Political Correctness In The Old West
Didn't know how Feministic the women were in the old West, or how open society was to bi-sexuality. Plently of unsubtle dabbling in these themes - although anachronism is part of the B+ movie lexicon.
The best moment comes from the very sensuous, under-appreciated actor Dana Delany: she steps off the Coach as she arrives in town and shares a rapturous, prolonged glance with Kurt Russell (Wyatt Earp). Her close-up is enough to wake Truman Capote (All due respect...).
Val Kilmer does okay ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great movie
I can look at this movie over and over again. The added scenes and interactive game make it worth the price
