Amazon.com Review:
A deceptively simple-looking tool, the BoWrench is a boon for both professional deck builders and do-it-yourselfers. The BoWench gives you a fast, one-person way to straighten decking boards. This is great, because decking material--whether redwood, cedar, or another, more exotic rot-resistant wood--is often warped, especially in 14- to 16-foot lengths. To operate the BoWrench, you simply fit the tool on a joist, swing the lever arm, and release. You can either push or pull boards into alignment, and when the handle is perpendicular, the tool locks in place, holding the board securely and leaving you free to drive nails or screws. The BoWrench is better than toenailing. Burying nails in the sides of decking to close gaps works, but it gives water more ways to enter the decking, which eventually leads to rot. With the BoWrench, you'll save time, create a longer-lasting surface, and maximize material. Using the special cam attachment (sold separately), the BoWrench replaces the clumsy beater block as the best way to close gaps in tongue-and-groove plywood and paneling. --Jon Groebner

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - this is an incredible time, energy and material saver!
This little gadget is simple to use, and incredibly effective. While building our deck, we chose to use longer boards which by nature, are very likely to be warped or twisted. We were able to salvage close to 100 board feet of lumber that we would have been otherwise unable to use, or would have had to cut down into smaller pieces to avoid the gaps. (What good is using the longer boards to start with!)

It makes it very easy to work independently and still have two hands free to attach ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Time Saver that keeps ther boards straight
Besides redecking my existing deck I added 384 sq ft. This tool allowed me to straighten warped boards and keep them aligned. I was even able to do it alone. This tool is a must have for anyone laying a deck!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Must have tool for decking
We just finished installing a treated wood deck with about 4,000 linear feet of decking. This tool was worth the price if only for this deck. Looking forward to using it with T&G adapter in the future.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A must have for installing wooden 2"x6" decking
I just purchased this BW-2 Bowrench decking wrench to help me resurface a roughly 420 square ft. deck from pressure treated 2" x 6" lumber. A friend of mine who has many years experience building his own decks (and helping out other friends) snickered when he came over to lend me a hand. Said things like "I see you got another gadget", and "Hey, bright orange swively thing...".

By the end of the 2nd row of planking, he was singing a different tune. "Hey, this is a really nice tool". ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wow....indispensable when building a deck!
I was reluctant to purchase this product due to the fact it would be a one-time use. Once the deck is complete...it would collect dust. However, I'm very glad I purchased this tool. I recently built a 22x14 deck and this tool proved invaluable. I used premium 5/4 treated decking, some of which warped over several days as it began to dry out. As I approached the last 5 boards I noticed one was woefully warped. This tool made it a snap to get into place and continue with the deck. I could have built ... Read More
