Rating:  - An Underrated Boy-Changes-Into-Girl Action Romp
With the conclusion of Birdy the Mighty, I now realize that a lot of people are missing out on one of the better anime OVAs not being watched. This anime has everything; great animation, lovable characters, good action, and a lot of comedy. In fact, if not for the less-than-stellar dubbed track, I would have given Birdy the Mighty: Final Force a five instead of a four.

Rating: - A Great Non-Mainstream Anime
The only problem I had with Birdy the Mighty was the voice-acting. While it wasn't terrible, it seemed to me that the voice actors were poorly matched to there characters, especially in the case of the main characters: Tsutomu has a rather irritating high-pitch to his voice and Birdy is low-key and somewhat bland at times. I will say that, by the end of this DVD, the voices do grow on you and really seem to come into their own. It's just early on that the voices seem odd.

Birdy The Mighty (Tetsuwan Birdy) set is soooo hard to find. Why? Because this gem is soooo underrated. Too bad because there's so much cool stuff in this anime.
The action scenes are very well animated. Simple but not childish, fluid but not too elaborate. The characters are believable too. Birdy is cute and quirky, strong but not imposing, and hotheaded but not foolish. Unfortunately, Birdy the Mighty is only a 2-DVD Original Video Animation and not a full season-worth of anime. "Final Force" is the second DVD out of two, and it is done in the fashion of Genocyber and Angel Cop (although a little more tame). It's got the solution to all your psychic battle needs!

Rating: - One of the most underated anime ever
Well there's stuff like Evangelion that gets alot of notice and alot of people see. There's other anime that falls through the cracks. This is one of them. I saw this on VHS a few years ago and am happy that it's now going to be on DVD.
