Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: 'Do you want to get toned to the bone?' shouts Richard Simmons. 'Yes!' his class yells back. This half-hour video comes with a 'Tonin' Cord,' rubber tubing with handles, used for muscle strengthening in place of weights. First Simmons gives instruction for using the tubing correctly and effectively. Then he warms up his class, who happen to be instructors from his exercise studio, Slimmons. (It's great to see fit instructors that aren't all slender.) The toning class uses the tubing to create resistance to work the legs, chest, arms, shoulders, and back. The exercises are varied and effective (sometimes enabling you to work two muscle groups at once), and the tubing gives enough resistance to make the workout challenging. This is a different style than the Sweatin' to the Oldies series--no live band or oldies music, a small class of instructors, more instruction of technique, and much better cueing. Richard shines as an instructor here. The class ends with a set for the abdominals (without the tubing) and a relaxing stretch. If you want to strengthen without free weights and with a warm, motivating instructor, Richard's your man. --Joan Price

Rating: - A Good Workout
This is a good workout that requires the use of toning cords. Looks deceptively easy, but gives a good workout! It's around fourty minutes long, and I like that like most of his videos, he includes a variety of people of different sizes and at different levels of fitness. Makes you feel more at ease and like you're at a "real" workout, not working out with taped "models". Plus, it gives you the opportunity to view the workout at different levels of intensity, so you can modify it to your own ... Read More
Rating: - RIPOFF! Seller sent a copied tape of a golf tournament!
Since Amazon shipped this item, I thought it was safe to purchase the Tone and Sweat tape used. It was a total RIPOFF! The seller had copied a golf tournament on the TONE N SWEAT cassette, so there was only about twelve minutes of the original programming.
What was available of the workout was good, but this is terrible. Amazon ought to ban this seller! I'm sending this back to Amazon today!

Rating: - GREAT FOR THE OUT-OF-SHAPE LIKE ME!
The good thing about this tape is that he works all your body parts---legs, arms, back, abs, and chest. So you're getting a complete muscle toning workout. Unlike his faster paced, electrically charged aerobics workouts, he moves more slowly in this tape. The exercises are more concentrated on the different muscle groups. I haven't exercised in a while, but I could still keep up without feeling behind or out of breath. And, there's always that Richard Simmons energy and gentle tone of encouragement ... Read More
Rating: - Great Toning Workout !
I've been using this tape for about 5 months and think it's not only a great toning workout, but fun to use. My husband bought it a few years ago and when I wanted to lose weight and get toned up, I decided to give it a try - with great skepticism. I'll admit I was wrong - this is a great tape and Richard Simmons is inspirational, motivational and just funny.
This tape uses toning cords and is about 40 minutes in length. While people criticize his lack of queuing, this particular routine ... Read More
