Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: High-pitched, relentlessly fast-paced, and filmed in eye-gouging, gumball color, this video series collects dubbed episodes of the Japanese animated series about a group of schoolgirl superheroes. In Japan, it's a lighthearted kiddy variation on a popular sub-genre--stories of alienated, but supernaturally gifted adolescents granted paranormal powers and enlisted in apocalyptic struggles between the dimensions. Imported to the United States in an attempt to create a Power Rangers-style mega-hit for girls, Sailor Moon hasn't become a mainstream phenomenon on that scale, although it has passionate, even obsessive fans, many of whom are much older than the intended demographic. (A Sailor Moon Web search can be a truly surreal experience.) The chirpy, giggly tone may be off-putting for some, but the level of visual imagination (and the self-sufficient courage of the young heroines) is exhilarating, especially when kids and parents watch together. This is this fifth volume in the video series: Serena, as Sailor Moon, has by now enlisted the support of a high-powered troop of Sailor Scouts--Sailor Mercury, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, et al. In the first of these two episodes, 'A Crystal Clear Destiny,' secret identities have to be revealed in a crisis, always a sticky wicket for a superheroine. In 'A Relunctant Princess,' Serena's moon force gets a power boost. (Running time: 44 minutes) --David Chute

Rating: - Memories of my favorite anime ever
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon brings back so many memories. When I was very young and Sailor Moon first came out, I found it by fate by flipping the channels. Back then no one else watched it and it was on at 6:00 in the morning. Many years later I reunited with it and then I ordered the Japanese episodes fansubbed. The Japanese episodes were amazing. Back then their was no official distributer, so I ordered from a fansubbed distributer. The Japanese version was so different from the American version. ... Read More
Rating: - WOW! These episodes are great?!
I am very surprised to think I found these episodes very cool! Usually I am totally against revised additions but these two episodes have the perfect ingredients for a controversial but light-hearted storyline and excellent character development. Features two fast-paced episodes: Crystal Clear Destiny: Absolutely awesome episode! I love the thought of two people who practically hate eachother finding out their destinies are intertwined and learning of their romantic past! In this episode, Serena (Usagi) ... Read More
Rating: - Very Awesome!!
I don't usually buy the dubbed Sailor Moon, but this is definately an exeption!! This was the Sailor Moon that I first started watching (Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R). This tape has my fave episode out of the whole series : Secret Identities!! Usagi and Mamoru(Serena and Darien) finally find out eachothers true identities, and remember their pasts!! It is SOOOO touching.... then there's another surprise!! If you are a big SM fan, than you must own this tape!! Hope this was helpful!!
Rating: - Good, but it could have been better...
I like these episodes, they are probably the best dubbed episodes I've seen, but I don't like the dubbing. Zoisite's death is much better in the original, for an example....
