Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: The Firm videos have had a longstanding reputation as tough, effective workouts. This offering, Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio, is an interval training workout, alternating the lower body and upper body, using both aerobics and weights. This challenging workout is aimed at intermediate and advanced exercisers with stamina and familiarity with both step aerobics and weight training. Instructor Heidi Tanner leads a roomful of impossibly fit, bare-ribbed women in a rigorous workout combining weight training, step aerobics, and dance aerobics. Although more time is spent with weights than without, it's designed to keep your heart rate up the whole time by keeping the major muscles engaged and changing routines frequently. You'll need two or three sets of dumbbells of varying poundage, ankle weights, one medium step, one high step, a 2x4, a towel, and enough room so you don't trip over all the props you're not using at the moment. This workout was designed to be paired with Cross Trainers: Firm Strength on alternate days. This 60-minute 1993 video was formerly called Variety Strong Heart. --Joan Price

Rating: - Great Workout!!
I have alot of "Firm" tapes and especially like this one along with the "strength" tape. If you are an advanced exerciser, the aerobics in this tape may not be enough to complete your workout. I use "Kari Anderson's Fitness Formula" to round out the aerobic section of this tape (25 minutes of step). This tape works all of your major muscle groups and isn't hard to follow. I especially like using the 14" step. Great, well rounded workout, I highly recommend this tape!
Rating: - the worst video of an amazing series
first off, I just want to say I am passioante about the firm workout series. The changes in my body over the past few years have been amazing, and every summer I can don a bathing suit with confidence - This video, however, is the farthest thing from a cardio workout. The step routines are boring and barely raise my heart rate, and the instructor is really annoying, The majority of the video is spent blasting lower body muscles with weight work - but even this is not done as aggressively as in other ... Rating: - Misleading Title. I expected more of an aerobic emphasis.
I have been a Firm Believer for about 10 years. When I bought this tape, I was looking for something that was very aerobic to do on days after a hard strength workout. This tape had very little aerobics. Most of it is strength training - don't get me wrong. It is a tough tape, but it might not be what you are looking for if you want an aerobic emphasis. Firm's Maximum Cardio is a MUCH better choice. I love this tape. Also, Firm Parts Tough Areobic Mix is great. If you are looking for a total ... Read More
Rating: - Not that good.
I own 4 Firm video tapes and rate their top at 5 stars. This tape however, really is not that good. Very confusing transition between exercises that make it difficult to enjoy the workout. It is frustrating to keep up with the frequent changes. Again, not thier best.
Rating: - ANYBODY GET THE PLATES ON THE TRUCK THAT JUST RAN ME OVER?
OUCH! I have 9 FIRM tapes - this is one of my favorites. It had me walking like an 80-year old woman the next day. I hadn't been that sore in a long time. But the first time I did it, it obviously strengthened my muscles because I did not have the same problem after that. I have been working out daily for the last 6 months and still cannot get all the way through the abs and legs sections of this tape - it is incredibly challenging, and the aerobics section maxes out my heart rate every time (you ...
